Hello! My name is Danika Smith, a Fort Dorchester Ninth Grader, and I am currently typing you an introduction!!
I'm also in Theatre 1, a drama class offered at Fort Dorchester Highschool. Theatre 1 is a class that scratches the surface of the drama art; it ranges from acting out monologues (a key tool for auditioning in plays) to the design process of plays. Classes range from freshman grade level to seniors, but you learn to love you class mates.
Currently, our class is designing model boxes for a Trash Apoctoplytic Society Project. To prepare and show of the amazing talent of the level one theatre kids, we created the story of this society, and then brought it to life through stage/costume design!
Before we started our design unit, we worked on monologues and how to audition for a part in any play. While it was very fun, it's also not an easy thing. In this upcoming week, our model boxes are due, then we have christmas break! I'll be back back after christmas to give you all of what we are doing.
