Second Post! - 12/18/16
Hi my theatre dudes! Its me, I am back at it again with another post. Yes my peers, I know it has been a while I have been super busy with, you guessed it, Theatre.
So updates on our last project :Our A-trash-alyptic costumes have been hung up outside the Theatre room! Not to mention some beautiful sets and drawings of the world too. Now onto current news.
In Theatre we just finished a fantastic project. In the project we learned about the costs and details of producing a movie or for that matter a trailer. Groups assigned by Ms. Tyo, were sent to come up with a Christmas themed idea. Once said idea was created they had to figure out the costs of actors, filmers, producers, editors, etc. Obviously costs of these things would cost money so we were sent out to retrieve Sponsors and Investors with currency to cover the costs being a promise from our teachers to sponsor/invest in us with "money". After that us students started filming, editing, and crediting with hit and miss ideas. Eventually the day we were to present our projects came around and we all dressed up all snazzy like and presented our projects. "TV stations" bid on our ideas/trailers and each group chose the offer from each station that spoke to them the most. It was so much fun (and by fun I mean a stressful fun) and we finished the projects in about a week or two at most. All of which looked fantastic!
In other news Christmas break has started and we will be out of school for around two weeks. So take this well deserved break my peers! And remember practice makes perfect so maybe practice or make a monologue over break! Because you know we can't forget the spring play. Its auditions are to be announced, but we know its in the spring obviously and the spring is coming in quick. So prepare yourselves and audition when you get the chance for any and every play, because 33 Variations went great under Ms.Tyo's fantastic directing and I can almost promise you every play in the future will be just as good. Not to mention you are all wonderful actors and deserve a chance to prove it on stage my friends, so TRY OUT! Anyhow that's all the news I have for today. Happy Holidays and Happy New Years. Toodles!
First Post! - 11/16/16
Hello my Theatre 2 peers! Some of you may or may not know me, so I'll introduce myself...
My name is Mary McCall, I am in Theatre 2, Ms. Tyo's 8th period! Nice to meet you. So now that introductions are out of the way, I'll explain what this little blog you're reading is for.
This little Theatre 2 blog here is to inform you on what's up with Theatre 2. I know it's pretty confusing, just bare with me. I will inform you on any and everything I can think of regarding Theatre 2 and Theatre in general, so you stay in the know even when you're absent. I may also take a few pictures and post them here of Theatre class and some cool stuff in Theatre overall. So you may be blog famous at some point in the future.
SO! Time to get you up to date. A few weeks ago we have started a new unit, the design unit! Theatre 2, 8th period (My class) have been making costumes for our little A-trash-yliptic world. A-trash-alyptic being a world in which trash has taken over. We have created our sketches for the characters which are actually on the wall in the Theatre classroom. And currently we are making our sketches come to life with a simple base outfit and some TRASH! Not to mention from what I know Ms. Tyo's other classes are making sets for our characters OUT OF TRASH! That being said, we need trash to make this world come to life, so please bring some trash in. Soon our hard work will all pay off! And our beautiful set and costumes will be done, but for now its all a matter of working hard and completing the costumes as the other classes complete the set.
